The Spa area was everything you would need for a relaxing break. The hotel itself was a beautifull mansion & so very clean. On top of this the courtesy & politeness mixed with proffesionilsm of all staff made you feel very welcome & that nothing would be to much trouble
Lovely food, good service, really nice decor and surroundings, clean and efficient relaxing stay!
room too hot like most hotels
Only stayed one night and arrived late so didn't get to experience all the hotel had to offer. It is set in a nice location with nice grounds and nice traditional style building, the room was clean and had all standard facilities and had everything I needed. I didn't actually get a chance to use it, but the spa facilties and treatments looked good.
Was slightly disappointed with the service at breakfast. Food was fine but the service was a bit slow as I had to ask several times for my coffee and only received it towards the end of the breakfast. This was not a major issue and may have just been due to it being a busy time
It's not a luxury hotel in any sense, but adequate for the price. Decor is basic and dated, entire building is surrounded by the hotel car park. Location is very convenient, close to London.
we only had time to sleep & eat so didnt get chance to make the most of the hotels facilitys but it is very nice,if i was to need to stay in the area again it would be at this hotel
we had to pay to upgrade our room because we where sold a room that could not accomadate us. Booked.net just need to check there facts a little better.but we still rate this place
The setting and the friendliness of the staff. The room was lovely and very clean and even though there was a wedding and hen party staying at the hotel we didn't hear a thing! This hotel was also excellent value for money especially when comparing with other hotels in the area.
Only minor issues - The price of the drinks in the bar!!! The bed was too soft! Oh and their scrambled egg was not the best I have ever tasted...in fact it had no taste!
The staff were out of this world. The food and wine in the restaurant was perfect, The best I have eaten so far - Beautiful Evening finished of with a lovely breakfast
The bar was to small, while waiting for our table we could not sit and have a drink but did not have to wait long
Excellent hotel. Very nice, panelled walls, a lovely old country house feel to the place, but with modern touches. Room was excellently appointed with good quality furniture, digital tv etc. Bed was superbly comfortable. Breakfast was buffet + hot cooked to order, fresh coffee, juices etc. Waiting staff quick, attentive and polite. All in all, an great hotel, fully recommend!
The well kept grounds surrounding the hotel, the restaurant staff who were very polite, friendly and willing to help and the decor.
Limited parking space for hotel guests due to wedding being held there and very steep prices for food at restaurant. The hotel is losing customers by charging such high prices as guests will go out and buy food rather than stay in the hotel and eat. Very disappointed that there was no jacuzzi as it is marketed as a spa hotel.
The room, and hotel in general was lovely. The computer systems in reception seem very slow though and it did take several minutes to find out which room we were staying in. The restaurant served lovely (but quite pricey) food and the waiting staff were very friendly and attentive. The spa was good, though the rectangular pool is fairly functional and lacked some of the style of others we have visited. Overall a good hotel, in a good location, would certainly recommend to others.
Breakfast and food generally was good. Reception/public rooms were very nice
Undoubtedly the setting is very nice and the reception rooms are beautiful. I thought the bedroom facilities were sadly lacking though. 2 out of the 5 lamps were not working and in particular the desk lamp, I had quite a bit of work to do in preparation for a meeting the following morning and had to do this sat on the bed. I showered in the morning and went to use the hairdryer. It became clear when I switched it on that the appliance was positively dangerous. I went to reception and they provided an alternative but not really what I would expect given the room rate
Nice staff, good rooms, services good, nice location, recommended.
A good location and easy to find. Reception staff were nice and helpful as well.
The restaurant staff were poor, food not great for a 4* hotel. Room was not cleaned and really was looking forward to staying and came away felling a bit let down.
It has the potential to be a really nice hotel. The old part was particulalry charming along with the grounds
It is simply way over priced and showing signs of being dated
